We Need Airplanes, Airplane Parts, Volunteer Pilots & Volunteer A/P Mechanics

Our Piper Aztec

Thanks to countless aviation companies who have donated certified airplane parts since 1991 as well as airplane mechanics who have donated their services, we keep our missionary airplanes flying.

Even if you are not a pilot or mechanic there are certainly many ways you could support our organization.

Besides the airplane pictured above, we also have a 1979 Piper Aztec turbo F plane to be used for domestic programs and as a backup for Haiti. These planes are stationed at either New Castle, Delaware (ILG), North Philadelphia, (PNE) or at Ft. Lauderdale Executive (FXE) where they receive more maintenance before flying to Haiti.

We also have a 1972 Cherokee airplane, which was our very first airplane. Many companies have already donated airplane parts including an engine overhaul. We now have a sponsor to do the annual but are recruiting co-sponsors to contribute airplane parts including avionics and interior parts. This airplane is stationed in south Delaware at GED. We especially are hoping for a donation of a Nav/Com such as Com 810R radio, KX155, KX170B or compatible unit.  Once this airplane becomes airworthy we may use it to train new missionary aviation pilots.  Current projects would be to get all of our airplanes painted and get the interiors replenished.

Consider Donating Your Airplane

We sure could use a plane that could hold more passengers. It does not have to be as beautiful as the one pictured here but if you have an airplane for sale, you may find it more beneficial to donate it to our organization. You could possibly gain more in the way of a tax write-off versus having to pay taxes on the sale proceeds of your aircraft. Contact our Airplane Committee at our 800 number and they will be glad to explain to you the benefits of donating your airplane.

When we first decided to start our work in Haiti in 1977, we sent a team of missionaries in our Aerocommander 680V airplane. We went by faith like Abraham, knowing that God would direct us every step of the way. As you can see from viewing our website, He really has blessed us in so many ways. The 680V airplane was replaced by the Aztecs, which can only fly some of our missionaries, so if we had a better airplane, we could send missionaries and doctors back and forth and be able to start the northwest region of Haiti.

We were the first civilian organization to receive partial certification for flying helicopters in Haiti, however even though we no longer have our Hiller D helicopter, we could work in continuing with our missionary groups to get to the northwest region of Haiti.

Recruiting Volunteer Multi-Engine Pilots

We hangar our twin engine 1967 Piper Aztec Model C at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (FXE) and fly it to Haiti. We are now recruiting volunteer experienced multi-engine pilots to transport our missionaries back and forth. If they so desire, they may stay longer in Haiti and receive free missionary training. Come to the mountains with us to help feed the poor, but even by donating your aviation skills, you would be united with us in feeding the poor.

Note that we get a lot of calls from many willing volunteers who have minimal hours. Even though we appreciate your willingness to help, please understand that our insurance requirements would mandate that you have experience in an Aztec and have accumulated at least 1,000 hours multi-engine time. So we truly appreciate all the phone calls we receive from possible pilots but perhaps there are other ways you could volunteer your services.

Chances are if you are involved in any aspect of aviation, there is a way you can help our organization. Many FBO's have also granted us discounts on fuel, services, and maintenance. Popular aviation publications have donated ad space to us. On some occasions, airlines have granted us discounts for flying commercial to Haiti.

Also, we have some surplus Aerocommander parts you may be looking for and would be happy to email or fax you our list of surplus parts.

We continue to receive donations of certified airplane parts from manufacturers and other aviation distributors, but we need many more parts such as engine cylinders, cowlings, avionics, headsets etc. Our Airplane Committee will be happy to send you a list of our needs but we welcome any of your surplus parts.

Not only do donors become eligible for a tax write-off, but they become united with us in a very worthy cause. We send the very best of thank-you letters to all contributors, and we look forward to your support in any capacity.
